Did you think an old Tweet just goes into the internet abyss, never to be thought of again?
How wrong you are.
Now, thanks to the beautiful Data Necklace, digital data can be brought into physical reality in the best way—as jewelry!
The wearable visualization of Twitter data was created by Scottish designer and software developer Stef Lewandowski at the Art Meet Tech hackathon and caught the attention of many. One example, the “love” necklace, takes a year of Lewandowski’s wife’s feed and measures how often she used the “L” word, feeding the data to a visualization tool that drives a laser to cut unique beads; interesting love-related Tweets were also etched into the acrylic.
The invention brings to life the hidden stories in social media, and is a lovely reminder of good times.
We kid you not.
