The event brought together some of the industry’s top investors to share ideas for trades, while also raising money for the Boys & Girl’s Harbor.

All of the ideas that were discussed were embargoed (for press) to the general public until after the closing bell on Friday.  However, those who bought a ticket were free to trade for the next 24 hours.

What we thought was so interesting was when these ideas were discussed that particular stock seemed to spike during intraday trading on Thursday.

We’ve included three examples below.

Catherine Wood, the chief investment officer of Thematic Portfolios as AllianceBernstein, mentioned Tesla Motors as a trade idea.  You can see in the chart below after 2:30 p.m. the price jumped.

When Stephen Raneri, the co-founder and managing member of LionEye Capital Management, said DST was his trade idea, you can see it, too, spiked.

Right before the closing bell rang, Howard Shainker, the managing partner of Bow Street, was discussing Rentech Nitrogen Partners.  It moved up just before the close of the trading day.
